No waiting room

I just rented a one room office in a professional building.  Most of the professionals in the building are doctors, psychologists, etc.  The office is in a great location with an upscale address, but I do have one hang up.  I do not have a private waiting or reception area.  There are plenty of chairs in the hallway for waiting and when I am in session I hang an in session sign on the door (as do the other professionals in the building).The office itself is quite nice, relaxing, with plenty of room and storage - its just not quite large enough to divide into two separate spaces.My question is - am I worried about nothing or is it a strange set-up.    ???Thanks.

No waiting room

Well, the hallway is pretty much your waiting room then. You could try to schedule your appointments with 30 minutes or so in between so it will give you plenty of time to finish one client, chit chat with them, set up your room, and allow your next client to enter without having to wait around in the hallway.

Hey there - I had an office with that same set-up, the hallway was my waiting area.  I had a nice garden bench outside for people to sit, I put a sign on my door that said "massage in session, Please do not disturb"  before that sign I often got people knocking on my door during a massage - but the sign stopped that. (for the most part  - there are always those people that amaze you!)I also had a small dry erase that said "I am currently with a client, I will be available at __2:30____"Another therapist I knew had a wall thingy with her form and a note that asked people to fill out their form while they waited.The set-up was never a problem for me, I dont think you should have too much to worry about!

I wouldn't worry too much about it.   You said there are chairs in the hallway which is good. Maybe you could put a small table in the hallway as well...put a few massage/wellness magazines on it. (or maybe brochures, business cards, etc.)
