Reflexology while sleeping

This is going to sound weird but has anyone given Reflexology to kids, had a 4 year old last week and as you can imagine he would not stay still enough for long.I was thinking of doing it while he is asleep, has anyone done this?

I have treated many kids , including kids with Autistic spectrum disorders and I may have been lucky but withour exception they all loved sitting in the special chair haing their feet done, some have wanted to maybe watch a dvd ( not ideal I know) but many mums were amazed their children sat still for so long.
I havent done it while they are asleep but i know if some one was touching my feet it would wake me up, even if being really gentle i may still disturb him. let us know how you get on

Thanks Trinabeanbag, I did consider taking the small tv into the therapy room, the other thing is all foot points were very tender so I could not blame him using very light touch but poor child has lots of imbalances in his system,I dont have a chair only couch,gave him lots of toys also.

Why not, many clients fall asleep while having it done anyway, healing process continues when we are asleep

I completely agree jojo I always aim to get my clients snoring if I can lol! but having some one start a treatment when you are already fast asleep might disturb him, but it cant hurt to try Star

Will try with the tv etc today and failing that I will suggest it to his mum, she may or may not allow it but will let ye know how it goes,thanks

When I treat little ones (and even very elderly!), I always start with a very short treatment - rarely longer than 5 minutes for each foot - then build up to longer sessions. Any treatment is better than none - even if you just manage simple relaxation techniques to begin with, this may ease the ultra-sensitive feelings he may have.

If I could get that 5 minutes each foot today I would be more than happy with that,hopefully it will go to plan and I also have his twin brother so it should be fun

Well it went very well with my two boys, lots of relaxation and linking got them relaxed, TV only lasted about 5 minutes but their mom read them a story and I managed to get 10 minutes on each foot with one and less with the other especially one foot.But Im pleased to get even that much for them,they were hyper afterwards and my room is a bomb and I should really go now and clean it as I have another client.Thanks for all the advice.

Thats great, my little man is 6 and loves his feet being done but would still only submit to short treatments. He sits in the chair and lies there like a king while I do a quick reflex treatment, I usually walk up and down the zones and if there is any particular concern I will concentrate on that area. I would finish off with a cream with a blend of Roman Chamomile and Mandarin or Lavender and Mandarin, massaged into the feet for a couple of minutes. You could give the mother a small 30ml pot to bring home with her and they might let her give them a little foot massage between treatments. If she was trying to calm them down I would also add a drop of vetivert.
