and one of the headrest adjustment knobs snapped on my chair last night I called Massage Warehouse since I just ordered the chair on 15 April and they are going to get a replacement authorization # from Stronglite once the latter opens up and get back to me. Which is fantastic especially if it doesn't cost me much more than S & H. But it still leaves me chair-less for my interview. I do still have my old chair, which thankfully can be fixed with a small pin I can probably get at the farm supply store {knee rest dropped a pin somewhere downtown last summer and wiggles a bit more than I'm comfy with} So there's hope, but I am sooo nervous because that chair is so much harder to adjust and far less adjustable than my EP, kwim?

Commiseration is more than welcome Also last minute tips on doing an interview while doing chair work?

I am confused a little... you say you have had the chair less than 4 days and one of the headrest adjustment knobs has already broken? That definitely sounds like a defective part to me. And I suppose why they want to get authorization from Stronglite... but I would hope that they would replace your chair at no cost to you. (Including "eating" the S&H since you probably already paid that on the original chair when it was shipped to you.)

Massage Warehouse, I believe, ships from Bloomington, IL... which may not be too far away from you... in that they may be able to ship the replacement chair to you more quickly and hopefully you could still have your new chair in time for your interview.

I am sorry that this happened to you... but don't let this minor glitch steal your enthusiasm for doing the chair massage. My only advice is to go in with your shoulders back, your head high, and a smile on your face. Warmth and confidence will go a long way towards winning the person interviewing you over. And hopefully once you get your hands on them... the job will be, "in the bag!" :

Thanks. I've had the chair about 23 days today, so 22 days when the knob broke. I get that they are plastic no matter how high the grade of the plastic and plastic breaks but that's a record even for me. It's not like I'm a competitive weight lifter either, I sometimes have to get my husband to open the jelly jar

I got a piece to fix the wobbly legrest on my old chair and it seems to be working out alright. It's by far and large no my preferred chair, it's harder to adjust and all that. Very uncomfortable for me at my current weight as well though my same-weight range and same exact pants size friend says it's comfortable to her.

I'm doing alot of practicing, watching my Meade Steadman video on constant loop and have my parrafin warming to make sure my hands are as feathery soft as possible.

Go to Home Depot and take your broken knob and get a couple that might work. Won't cost much, will get you thru the interview, then you can deal with Massage Warehouse.

Forgot to update- I didn't get to go to the interview. Was woken up at 3 a.m. by a pukey, feverish preschooler. Daycare won't take her with a fever and my backup daycare is my parents, one of whom had a cardiology appointment.

Oh well, it was a learning and growth experience at least. I now have a 3rd and 4th backup daycare person for all 3 kids. And a backup plan for if any combination of those fail.

Just curious... did you get a re-set on the interview? Were you able to call with enough advance notice that they will speak with you again? If so, when will it be?

By your post, it sounds like you had difficulties and blew it off and I just can't imagine you would do that, so I thought it might be nice to hear a little more. *nods*
