Soi Viking

Is there a map to say where soi viking is. i've seen it wrote about a few times and at one time geir was looking at buying a bar there.
Just wandering what bars are in soi viking now and is it busy.
never got around to seeing it in november.

Just another quick question, are they doing any building work on new bars behind soi crocodile the car park area. I saw a sign for buying a bar there if i wanted, and even got given a leaflet, suppose now we have the new entertainment zone then all the small bar areas being built and moving from the top and bottom of patong i.e thara patong area looking empty now.

bars were quiet when i was last there(1vacant or just being finished), but they will pick up i think. theres hotels going up in the first building on the corner and at the last corner on the right in the soi.

not sure about the carpark behind soi crocodile i will leave that up to those on locale.

to me though it seems its hard enough to get customers down to the end of the existing sois. and that will be a fair hike off the bangla, especially with all the girls available between bangla and there.

The soi with the name "Bangla Square" is also called Soi Viking, the same soi with Home Bar, Rico's and Viking restaurant.

No construction started yet behind Soi Crocodile/Eric yet, still a big parking space.

Yes that is the same place as Soi Viking.It was also referred to as Soi Language school as the Patong Language School was on that street.It was called Soi Viking because of the Viking Bar and Grill run by Tom was at the end.

The street has been changed and there are seven new bars in the square.

Formerly called Soi Patong Language School as this school was located there. Indian owners of the soi asked to much rent.

Have to feel sorry for the Soi SeaPearl bar owners who relocated to the end of Soi Viking - especially the 19th Hole as this was one of my regular drinking spots 2-3 years ago.

For those BM's in search of some 5* surroundings Home Bar is worth a visit.

This lounge bar deserves more, spread the word!!!

Perter, owner and host, is also a very charming and nice personality.

Yes its all dead. Ive known the owner of Thailand Bar for years, and she is really struggeling now.
The bars in there also look very "cold" and the construction are really bad.
With a facelift for the bars and some girls out in Bangla to drag people inside it might be possible to do buisness there. At the moment its no light or signs that shows people its bars in there..............

How many new Soi's being built have opened with no sign or advertising.
There thinking is its like the film "field of dreams".

The soi owners are not worried if it's quiet as LiL as said before there the winners everytime, rent every month and when a bar closes before end contract new contract to sell again.

I still can't understand there are loads of people still willing to buy a bar in a place that is dead and for stupid money and think they can make money.
Until you get the soi owners encouraging the bars and advertising there soi's ith offer and attration, then you always going to get a high turn over of bars.
The thing is it's just not farang bar owners losing money. it's also alot of thai bar owners losing money.

Had a conversation with a bar thai owner in Otop shopping about advertising in November,none on the pavement outside. I only stumbled on them bars when looking around the stalls in Otop.
He said why advertise the bars in here, well so people know,
As he was saying this i could see 10 bar with one customer , oh that was me.
end of the conversation.
All out of business by end of high season or sooner.

it seems to me Baz in patong to advertise or to advertise only badly seems the norm.

business tucked away in side sois as we all know seem to struggle for business.

tourists dont seem to want to wander off the main streets to much

last 3 trips i have seen soi lion, it was either busy or not, 1 trip busy and good crowd other 2 times not much happening.

soi lion is my favourite soi for a beer,,and a visit to the island lager bar,,to see dave and his missus,,plus a few stunners in there,,,3 weeks till touchdown,,!
